We grow beautiful vegetables by cultivating healthy soil

Learn about our farming methods

No Till
Living soil organisms form beneficial relationships with crops. We leave these little guys alone to do their thing! We do not plow our fields or even walk on the vegetable beds. To aerate the soil, we use hand tools and rely on earthworms and moles.

Organic Practices
We never spray herbicides or use synthetic fertilizers. We build soil fertility by rotating crops, using certified organic fertilizers if needed, and adding compost. To address pests, we use row cover and foster habitat for birds and beneficial insects. And we minimize weeds by mowing, mulching, using tarps, and hand weeding.

Climate Resiliency
Healthy soils are able to retain water and require fewer inputs. These are just a few of the ways that a healthy soil ecosystem helps us to be resilient in the face of climate change.

Diversity
Diversity is essential for a healthy soil ecosystem. We grow over 80 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and flowers on our farm. In addition to creating a healthy soil ecosystem, this diversity reduces pests and disease.
