The Winter CSA is sold out!

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a lot more than just a vegetable box.

By making a commitment to purchase produce in the beginning of the winter season you enable our farm to cover the expenses needed to grow the delicious and diverse variety of vegetables you’ll receive throughout the fall and winter.

In turn, we commit to working hard to grow beautiful veggies using organic practices that improve soil health. We harvest your produce as close to delivery as possible and provide you with a weekly newsletter with suggestions of what to cook with your bounty.

By incorporating locally grown vegetables into your routine, you’ll form a close relationship to the food you eat, the land where it was grown, and the people who cultivated it. You’ll enjoy seasonal produce, knowing that you are contributing to a vibrant farming community and thoughtful environmental stewardship. Bonus: many farm fresh veggies can stay good in the fridge for several weeks.

How does it work?
We deliver produce to pick up locations in Green Lake (Seattle), Meridian Park (Shoreline), Ridgecrest (Shoreline), and Woodinville (at the farm) six times between November and March:

* Nov 7 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Nov 8 (Woodinville)
* Nov 21 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Nov 22 (Woodinville)
* Dec 5 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Dec 6 (Woodinville)
* Jan 9 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Jan 10 (Woodinville)
* Feb 13 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Feb 14 (Woodinville)
* Mar 20 (Green Lake and Shoreline)/Mar 21 (Woodinville)

You’ll pick up your produce during the pick up windows:
* Green Lake, Meridian Park, Ridgecrest: Sunday evenings, 5pm-8pm
* Woodinville: Monday evenings, 4pm-6pm

Please double check these days and times carefully before signing up. If you’re out of town, you can share your box with a friend or ask another CSA member to pick it up for you.

What is in a winter veggie box?
You’ll receive 6-8 seasonal items in each box, typically enough for two adults who enjoy vegetables and cook at home often. We aim to give you a great value on organically-grown produce without overwhelming you. You’ll get a mix of storage crops, dried summer crops, and fresh winter produce. Most of your Winter CSA produce will last for at least two weeks.

Here are a few example boxes to give you an idea of how the CSA veggies change with the seasons:

November
Lettuce
Beets
Parsley
Garlic
Rainbow Chard
Carrots

January
Brussels sprouts
Butternut Squash
Savoy Cabbage
Leeks
Heirloom Dried Beans
Daikon Radishes

March
Red Russian Kale
Lettuce
Popcorn
Collard Green Rapini
Pea Shoots
Celery Leaf

How much does it cost?
The Winter CSA costs $180 by check/Venmo or $186 by credit card for 6 bags of fresh, seasonal vegetables throughout the winter. You’ll get beautiful varieties of produce that you can’t buy at the grocery store. Winter King Savoy Cabbage, Dakota Black Popcorn, Green In Snow Mustard Greens, and Hunger Gap Kale are just a few of the varieties that we’ve planned for 2021-2022.

We have started a Community Food Fund with generous donations from our CSA members. Please reach out by email (hello@songbirdhavenfarm.com) if cost is a barrier.

How else can I taste your veggies?
By joining the CSA you’ll get our best deal on seasonal, organically-grown produce. But we know that the pick up days and locations won’t work for everyone.

You’ll also be able to buy one-time veggie boxes at our Pop-up CSAs at different locations throughout the season. Make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter to get notifications for these opportunities.

Where do I find all the fine print?
Please read our
Greenlake/Shoreline Membership Agreement or Woodinville Membership Agreement carefully before you sign up.

How do I sign up?
Our Winter CSA is full. Make sure you’re on our mailing list to learn about Pop Up CSAs and Summer CSA sign ups.
